18/01/2019 Demonstrating 5s

Achieving an organised working environment ensures that the area is safe, efficient and cost effective.

This is one of our Training Consultants, Gordon James (pictured on the left), demonstrating to a team of our learners how to conduct a 5S Audit.

This forms part of our delivery structure, ensuring that they have not only a good understanding of 5S (which is the foundation and standardisation for all Lean manufacturing processes), but also ensures the practical implementation of good working practices and techniques.

This is also a good way to identify possible Kaizen projects and an effective method to identify “waste”. Gordon went through the 5 stages of the 5S process as a means to demonstrate that with constant monitoring of standards this was what was referred to as the “stepped” approach when conducting 5S audits.
